About Ellie

Ellie studied fitness and psychology at the University of St. Catherine where she graduated in 1992. She has over 10,000 hours teaching others how to apply the Meditative Movement™ technique so they can enjoy their lives more fully. Because her personal practice has spanned more than 30 years, she now shares her well-being insights with others.

Ellie is the master of creating personal changes. When she was 23 years old, she was divorced and raising 3 children on her own while making $80 a week. She smoked, weighed 100 pounds and thought she was fat. Her body was unhealthy; her mind was constantly focusing on what other people should change in their lives so she could be happier and her spiritual being was weighed down with fear, self-pity, anger, and worthlessness. Life was unbearable.

Now in her early 60's, she is living life beyond her wildest dreams. By developing and applying the Meditative Movement™ techniques, she has learned to harness her own personal power. She has quit smoking, maintains a healthy weight, appreciates her body, has inner peace, and loves being alive. She has remarried, enjoys relationships with her children and six grandchildren. Life is joyful, loving and abundant.

Are you living your wildest dreams? Let Ellie be your teacher and show you how.

About Meditative Movement™ Technique

When we bury our energy and personal power by ignoring our emotions, not listening to our bodies, and acting like we are human doers instead of human beings the result can be depression, broken relationships, unhealthy habits and disease. Meditative Movements™ offers healing to your body and your mind. You can live in harmonious relationships, be free from medications, dieting and smoking, and be truly engaged and enthusiastic in life. The best testimonial we have received is from a client who was able to break the family cycle of depression. Give yourself the gift of a healthy mind and body so you can give happiness to others.

The program starts when you explore who you are through meditation so you can give breathe to your life purpose, values and dreams. Then you can release resistance and empower your mind and body through structured movements with core value affirmations that reveal your wholeness and perfection. Lastly you embrace each moment with gratitude and knowing.

Here is how one participant uses the movements to bring calm into her daily interactions with the homeless. "I did not feel good came from me. I was fearful of other's anger. Doing the I Feel Safe Meditative Movement™ allowed me to be in the presence of other's anger - enabling me to work with angry outbursts of homeless people. When I felt I couldn't possibly do more training as an advocate, I did the I Can Meditative Movement™. Often before going into the advocacy room, I would do the I Release Meditative Movement™. Doing these movements relaxed me. The I Choose Meditative Movement™ allows me to own my actions and my thoughts."

University of Minnesota Research Project Findings

The University of Minnesota Occupational Therapy Department feasibility research study concluded that Meditative Movements™ may be effective in reducing anxiety, depression, and fatigue, while improving emotional well-being and functional well-being for persons with chronic health conditions. The findings suggest that Meditative Movements™ may be used as an alternative and complementary therapy or rehabilitation program for persons with chronic health conditions.

Chronic diseases and conditions such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes, obesity, and arthritis are among the most common, costly, and preventable of all health problems.

The prevention and management of chronic health conditions is a major challenge for the current health care system. There is growing evidence that complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) have beneficial effects for managing the many symptoms of chronic health conditions. Use of CAM to improve health and well-being has increased over the years (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2007). American adults are most likely to use CAM for problems such as stress, fatigue, and pain.

Health Professionals Experiences

"I work as a life-coach combining spirituality, counseling, health and wellness education. Of course movement and exercise are part of what we all know to be a healing, healthy lifestyle, but for many people finding the right time and method is difficult. Almost everyone has done aerobics and enjoyed it, but the gym part is a turn-off. This tape is short and easy and the idea of the affirmations brings it to a new level of meaning. People -myself included- really appreciate the empowering opportunity to bring together their physical, spiritual and mental health. Elle's story is very inspiring as well. Thanks for a great tape!"

Cathy, Life Coach

"WOW!!! Ellie's video has taken the work out of exercise. This video blends joyful working out with positive affirmations that will have women jumping out of bed in the morning. This short video is sure to provide energy and enthusiasm for your next steps to better health. As a life coach people often ask me if they can have a life, a career and health at the same time. Yes, this fun video creates the environment to have it all!"

Chere Bork MS RD LN, Life Coach and Licensed Nutritionist

"I do enjoy the workout and the affirmations immensely. Have been a big Charlene Pritchett and Denise Austin fan for years. The spoken affirmations do set your workout apart from others and I like the concept. I am using your workout at home now in concert with the Curves for Women resistance-aerobic workout which I do 4 times a week.

I think your workout is very adaptable to the 50+ population and perhaps even in assisted living environments (I am a Geri RN). I also think you could take this to churches/prisons/jr. and high schools. Really it is a routine which can go anywhere:-)"

Adult Experiences

"I haven't done the combination meditation/movement before, other than Qigong, and not with affirmations like this, so this class was fascinating, helpful and empowering. I tend to be resistant to affirmations, so I appreciated this new approach. Voicing / speaking the phrases was difficult but probably good for me. Thanks for keeping it simple."

Pathways Participant

"This approach is a natural tie in for me. I've been running and weight training for a number of years. Since I started integrating the affirmations into my existing routine, I find that I'm more relaxed and focused. Using this approach has helped me break some barriers especially in my high intensity workouts. Instead of distracting myself by watching television or listening to the radio, I am able to bring my mind into what I am doing. Being able to repeat these positive messages is supplying the added energy that I need. The Meditative Movement™ book was an easy read and I was able to figure out quickly how I could incorporate the affirmations. I know the affirmations will always be a part of my future workouts."

Tom, Independent Sales

"It's great to be back to aerobics again! I find the affirmations offer an incentive and make the exercising meaningful on all levels. I highly recommend Power of Positive Aerobics to anyone who wants a good, short workout that also can be a movement meditation, and just plain fun! I really appreciate the affirmations and the room to add my own."

Melissa, Mother

Nicole knows the importance of saying affirmations and loves the fact that she can affirm herself as she works out. Nicole is working out three to five times a week. Two days out of the week, she does the "Power of Positive Aerobics" tape and the other days she participates in non-team sports such as roller blading, walking, or working out at her club.

Nicole is successfully obtaining her goals. She uses exercise to help manage seasonal weight gain due to her prescription medication. Almost all prescription medication causes - at the very least - water weight gain or more permanent weight gain due to increase in appetite. "Working out with this video helps a lot with losing both water and more permanent weight gain - I have lost a total of 20 pounds (and counting) in a relatively short period of time since integrating this video with diet. I put on those 20 pounds in just a few weeks after I started a new medication, so really turned it around from rapid weight gain to weight loss!", says Nicole.

"I also use exercise, along with the affirmations to help regulate my mood. I am especially susceptible to the "Winter Blahs" from November to March and this year has been much improved. I like the convenience of using the video on days when it is too cold (or I just feel too comfortable at home) to go outside. I have neither the space nor the budget to buy exercise equipment, so the video is perfect for me."

The aerobic movements are fun. Nicole has done a lot of different workout videos and this workout is easy on her knees. She also likes the three levels of intensity, although she usually works out at the most intense pace. On days she's feeling a bit more sluggish, she drops down to the mid-level.

Nicole, Minnesota

As I practice, I feel more connected to my being. It has been rewarding to get in touch with my inner self. Each choice takes me closer to what I am meant to become. "With Meditative Movements™, it can help us be ready to receive the gentle tug of the Spirit. I like to look at it as individuals, we are strong. Together, with God we are unstoppable. As we get healthy emotionally and physically, great things happen."

Gladys Girardot, Florida Gulf Coast University Student

Youth Experiences

Thrivent Kids Kinship EventKids Kinship Feedback

Thrivent Team Action and Kids & Kinship had the opportunity to practice Meditative Movements.

I thought the program was fun. The "I Am Strong" Meditative Movement is my favorite. Thank you for offering this class.

Jakkan

"The students at Prosperity Heights Elementary really enjoyed Ellie's aerobic workout. They liked the "I Am Healthy" and "I Am Strong Meditative Movements™" the best. It was fun to educate the students on the power of affirmations. As a reminder the word affirmation is on our Word Wall in the gym."

Wally Grant P.E. Teacher (MN Elem. P. E. Teacher of the Year 1995)

"This was a great addition to my aerobics and conditioning class! All of my students had very positive feedback and the affirmations helped them realize the importance of saying positive things to themselves on a regular basis! Ellie's passion for this type of aerobics was definitely shown and was contagious! She did a wonderful job and I really hope to have her back to share her talent with my future students!"
